The 2nd International Sulaymaniah Food Expo 2012 will be held on 14-17th March at Sulaymaniah Expo Center by the organization of Elan Expo and Atilim Fairs. The success of the first Sulaymaniah Expo organized in 2011 was far beyond the expectations. Sulaymaniahexpo 2011 welcomed 160 companies from 8 different countries. The exhibition provided a huge platform for international business partnerships. During the exhibition , in the 4 days period, approximately 1.5 billion dollars trading volume emerged among 103 companies. The fair reflection of the exhibition is observed in trade volumes. Annual trading volume of 2011 is estimated as 1.8 billion dollars. The number of the visitors reached to 42500, including Sinan Celebi, Minister of Trade and Industry, the ambassadors, local administrators, investment commissions and municipality members.
Agricultural products have large share in Iraq's import. Currently, Iraq imports 65% of its agricultural products. Besides; the demand for the processed and high-nutrition foods is presumed to increase in parallel to the improvement in living standards. Agriculture and irrigation machines effluent water treatment, recycling and waste treatment technologies are represented as significant requirements of the country.
