Under the guidance and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Department of Culture & Information of Shj Government has been organising international book exhibitions in Sharjah since 1982, a 10 day annual event usually held during the first half of December. The prime aim of Sharjah World Book Fair is to generate reading habit among the people, mainly the younger generation, and to make quality books accessible to them at affordable prices.
Intl Representations:
In recognition of its intl standard and success, the Sharjah World Book Fair is given memberships of many intl org such as (1) Afro-Asian Book Council (2) Arab Publishers' Assn (3) GCC Book Committee, etc.
Recognized by : Intl Publishers' Association (IPA).
General Organization: Sharjah World Book Fair has got two main divisions: (a)Display division(2)Sales division.
- Both the div will have Arabic language and Foreign language sections. |
